About

Why this exists

Theirs & Ours began after a death in the founder’s family made something quiet obvious: the words people said about the person afterwards were the words she should have heard while she was alive. The brand exists to make it easier — at every milestone, at every age, before the chance is gone.

The people we love don’t always know what they mean to us. We assume they know. They don’t, always.

Theirs & Ours exists to make telling them easier — at every milestone, at every age, before the chance is gone.

They are more than good enough.

What we do, so they don’t have to

The book that arrives looks as if every contributor knew exactly what to say. They didn’t, on their own. We helped them. The structure of the book, the design of every page, the guidance for every person we ask, the prompts that fit each relationship — all from us.

Your job is to bring the people who know them. Theirs is to say what they mean. Ours is everything else. The book that arrives reads as if everyone tried hard. They did. We made trying easy.

The person making the book

The person making the book isn’t only producing a gift. She’s making something she’ll keep too. The act of making is part of how she carries the relationship — and it’s true of the colleague organising a leaving book, the partner doing the anniversary, the sibling assembling a memorial. They are not customers buying a service. They are makers, and the making is part of the value.

We never patronise the maker. We never pretend the work is effortless when it isn’t. We design every surface so the time she spends inside the product feels like time well spent, not admin. The book she ends up with is hers as much as it is the recipient’s, and our job is to give her a process that earns that.

Who we are
